A thousand middle fingers towards le président de la république

Keny Arkana totally owned, ruled & rocked the stage tonight. She was even better than I had expected and maybe even better live than on record. I have never heard so many syllables uttered in such a short time by one person. The woman is a flow machine!

The best thing is the reversing of the traditional gender roles in the hiphop genre. She hardly shows any skin. Hardly any smiles, no love songs, no booty shaking. Just angry, energetic resistance, anti-Sarko rap. Mixed with great beats, some reggae and live guitars. Her crew, the three backup rappers and -singers as well as her support band were male. And all of them playing along with da supastar.

And obviously she made the audience point all our middle fingers to the current president. Not very mature, but very fun. What else can you do in this country to get attention besides burning cars, smashing shop windows and go on strike? A country where the police leave teenagers to die after a car crash?
