Happy 8th March to y'all

Openly gay and culturally - but not religiously - muslim Sara Azmeh Rasmussen* burned a hijab in the 8 March demonstration in Oslo today and received all kinds of reactions from cheering and clapping to snow balls. Some young women in pink headscarves, abundant make-up and accessories were terribly upset about it, since "we're not doing anything wrong". Well, that's kind of beside the point, since the motif was to burn a symbol of segregation and suppression. But I'll admit I also thought I had equal opportunities and weren't discriminated against when I was a teenager.
