Swimming Goose

The Goose turned six today. We went swimming in the local pool and all of a sudden she wanted to swim with no arm bands. First I let about half of the air out and she managed to keep herself afloat. After a short while she demanded them off completely. We took them off and she kept her head above water all on her own and even swam a few metres several times. Her swimstyle was more like a cross between a dog (arm and leg movements) and a seahorse (close to vertically). Very funny and very exciting for both of us. She told me it was her surprise for me, but I think she got a bit surprised herself too. I was very close to crying there for a while, it was just amazing to see her struggling through the water and actually getting where she wanted. A happy birthday it was indeed.

Coming home she was too exhausted to go to the big playground we had planned to go to, so she just chilled out playing an excellent PSP game she got from Hypoglycemiadude. Tomorrow we'll celebrate with a proper party at the Trønder & Miss J's place in the countryside. Anticipating +/- 20 kids. Good thing they have a big garden. Hopefully it won't rain, cause then there will be 20 kids indoors.
