Normandy touristing weekend; Saturday

After four days of hard work it was time for a relaxing weekend. A bus and a guide brought us westwards on Saturday

Visit to Mont St Michel. Tour of the abbaye on top of the rock. Been there before but then without guide. Typically Normandie weather; changing all the time. Not too many other tourists despite the fact that it is the second most visited place in France (after Paris).



Lunch: Terrine de canard et sa compoté de pruneaux, Flan de St Jaques sauce crustacé, Gigot d'agneau au sel de Guérande, Entrements à la mousse de mascarpone et fruites rouges. Lots of cider.

Visit to the upper town in Granville. Lovely view from the cliff and charming streets in the old town. Been there before, nearly freezing to death. I had hoped to be able to visit the Christian Dior Museum , but it was not open yet. It opened the day after we were there.



Dinner in Bayeux; La surprise terre et mer, Filet de bar juste cuit dans son caramel au gingembre frais et riz basmati safrané, L'asiette des délices: tartare de fruits, granité du sud, biscuit, saveur violette. Wine, wine, wine.

After dinner we went clubbing in Bayeux. Haaahaaa.
